Meet Monica Benton
I launched my cooking and recipe website in 2013, and over the past decade, it has blossomed to feature over 1,000 food and drink recipes, along with more than 100 cooking videos.
Many recipes on my site are cherished family favorites we make regularly, such as Caribbean Poached Fish (court bouillon), a quick 4-ingredient Pesto Salmon, a comforting Italian Sausage Soup that lasts for days, and a hearty German Goulash, perfect over noodles or spaetzle.
Whenever there’s a rotisserie chicken in our kitchen, I always use the carcass to make a flavorful rotisserie chicken stock.
As an award-winning food blogger, my work has been featured in cookbooks, magazine articles, and on cooking and news platforms.
My mission is to help you create mouthwatering meals, sumptuous drinks, and indulgent desserts, offering tested recipes and step-by-step photos to guide you. Each recipe includes my Pro Tips, FAQs, and easy swaps and substitutions so you can cook confidently and impress at every meal.
My recipes have appeared in Oprah Daily, Men’s Journal, BuzzFeed, Shape.com, Huffington Post Canada, Better Homes and Gardens, Today, MSN.com, BlogHer, One Green Planet, ChowHound, Country Living, Cosmopolitan, SheKnows, and Honest Cooking, among others. Visit my Press Page for a full list.
I regularly contribute recipes and content to SideChef and Southern Kitchen and am a meal plan contributor for EatLove.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Virginia Commonwealth University, which led to early roles at two newspapers, The Richmond Times Dispatch and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel (part of Tribune Media), and continues to serve me well in the blogging world.
